MONSTERS YOU MADE!

 MONSTERS YOU MADE!

We need a change and it ain't no way I'ma take an excuse, My niggas finding a way or fucking smile in the grave. This is the price that you pay.... Burna Boy

It’s so sad some of us still consider our oppressors as saviours and our evil political & religious leaders as heroes. The inferiority complex of the African people has put us below our worth. It’s high time to wake up! hold our oppressors and leaders accountable..... Kayode Gomes

“If the government refuses to develop the region and continue the marginalisation and injustice... The youths and the next people coming after us, but it will be more brutal than what we have done.

Calling me a monster, calling us fake, No way, no way, no way.....Calling me a monster, just 'cause we say we're from the block where it rains, where we create barricades, keep opposition away. That's why we are strapped with the K's

Don't get kidnapped from your place 'Cause it could happen today. Not knowing how to behave, that is a sign that you may just lose your life, What a waste your body found in a lake. You fucked around and the fisherman found you drowning for days.

You know we come from a place where people smile but it's fake. How could they smile? If you look around they are surrounded by pain. I've seen the sky turn to grey, It took the light from the day. It's like the “Heads of the states” Ain't comprehending the hate that the oppressed generate when they've been working like slaves to get some minimum wage, you turn around and you blame them for their anger and rage, put them in shackles and chains because of what they became.

We are the monsters you made. Calling me a monster, calling us fake. You make the minotaur the dinosaur wake. Calling me a monster, just 'cause we say. No way, no way, no way. Calling me a monster, make no mistake that there's only so much that you can take. We are the monsters you made.

I bet they thought it was cool, probably thought we were fools when we would break all the rules and skip them classes in school because the teacher dem teaching what the white man dem teaching. Dem European teachings in my African school. So fuck dem classes in school, Fuck mongo park and the fools that said they found river Niger. They've been lying to you, Ain't no denying the truth.

See what I'm tryin to do is draw the line for the mothers crying, we're dying as youths. Come walk a mile in my shoes, see if you smile at the truth, see if you digest your food, that's when you might have a clue of what the fuck we go through. You’re fucking lucky if you live through the day, better pray that God always stay with you. Ain't fucking safe anyday, the reaper'll be coming for you

We need a change and it ain't no way I'ma take an excuse, My niggas finding a way or fucking smile in the grave. This is the price that you pay....

We are the monsters you made, Calling me a monster, calling us fake. You make the minotaur the dinosaur wake. Calling me a monster, just 'cause we say. No way, no way, no way. Calling me a monster, make no mistake, that there's only so much that you can take. We are the monsters you made”....

Since we met your people 500 years ago, look at us, we have given everything, you are still taking. In exchange for that, we have got nothing and you know it.…. Ama Ata Aidoo

POVERTY PORN

 Poverty Porn

"Colonial relationships and attitudes can clearly be recognised in the communications of international aid organisations. Hungry black children and noble white saviours are still very much present in contemporary campaigning….. But many of the new, 'positive' or 'innovative' aid campaign genres are also very problematic, observe media scholars Emiel Martens (University of Amsterdam/EUR) and Wouter Oomen (University of Utrecht) in a recent article on OneWorld.nl that caused quite a lot of debate.

New campaign genres often feature famous ambassadors that visit a project abroad, simulations of non-West misery (e.g. by being locked-up in a cage or painting faces of celebrities as if they have ebola), or adventure journeys such as hiking in Nepal or biking in Tanzania. What is going wrong? And how can campaigning in development aid be done in a more ethical way?

Emiel Martens

Wouter Oomen

Martens and Oomen discuss these and other questions in 'Poverty Porn 2.0', the latest podcast of Disrupt Development hosted by Alexander Medik."

The Height of Homophobia in the Netherlands!

The Height of Homophobia in the Netherlands!

A Nigerian Lesbian “Happy” was poured boiling water in asylum seekers' center:

'Maybe the Netherlands is not safe enough'

It is so sad that we flee our homophobic countries in search of safety, acceptance and freedom only to meet our worse nightmares. The countries we consider safe havens have been compromised by homophobic, violent and barbaric asylum seekers whom also fled their countries of origin for different reasons only to claim they are homosexuals just to get resident papers. I urge the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), Asylum seekers organization, LGBTQI organizations and Volunteers to do more in-depth and thorough background checks as over 70% of asylum seekers whom claim to be gay are actually homophobic migrants using homosexuality as excuse. And I advise these perpetrators to use other reasons as there are many other reasons why you could be in danger in the regions you come from. It is so sad that people with the real stories and experience do not get a chance to really find safety and the freedom they seek for…. Kayode Gomes

The lesbian asylum seeker ‘Happy’ still can not believe what terrible suffering was done to her in early August. In an asylum seekers' center in the Netherlands she was poured boiling hot water. According to Happy, it also took far too long for her to receive proper medical attention.

The Nigerian Lady tells her story ….

The incident happened on the night of Sunday 2 to Monday 3 August. Happy visited her friend Esther in an AZC in Gilze, Happy herself lives in another AZC. When Esther walks out after receiving a message, Happy realizes that something is wrong. She sees a man arguing with her girlfriend. “Security tried to take them apart,” Happy recalls. "But the man was too strong." Happy manages to convince her friend to let it go and to report it the next morning. When they walk back to their room, things go wrong again. The man beats up Esther while holding her baby on the arm. “At that moment we were brought out by security,” Happy tells Hart van Nederland. "Security was there all through." When Happy turns around, she sees a woman approaching with a bowl of boiling hot water. Happy did not hesitate for a moment and jumped between them, so the hot water got on her while she protected her girlfriend and the few month old baby.

"I could not believe it. It happened very quickly. The moment the water hit me, my skin came off, ”she continues. Despite everything, Happy does not regret her action. "Me and my girlfriend can survive this, but the baby can't." Happy and Esther have a really hard time with what happened. “I don't sleep at night. I cannot believe that this happened to me in the Netherlands ”, Happy tells with emotion. This is why we fled our own country Nigeria. Maybe the Netherlands is not safe enough.”

Esther has sought psychological help. She walks around feeling guilty. “I feel guilty that this happened to her. She shouldn't have to go through all that pain for me, ”she says. That night Esther received very nasty curses and threats at her head and found it incomprehensible that the couple also seemed to be after her child. “Why are you doing it when I'm with my child?” She says with tears in her eyes. The drama had a major impact on her son. He cried out that night and he hasn't eaten properly ever since.

The two women have doubts about the actions of the COA (Centraal Orgaan opvang Asielzoekers) in the evening in question. According to Happy, the security guard asked many questions because she does not live in the AZC in Gilze, so it took a long time before she received the right help. "It felt like my body was on fire by now, I think my injuries are worse than necessary," Happy continues. "If I had received the right help on time, it would have been less bad." Once she saw a doctor, she was immediately sent to the hospital: "It took quite a while before there was transport to the hospital." The COA informs Hart van Nederland that it immediately provided first aid to Happy and took her to the GP post.

LGBT Asylum Support organizes a card campaign for the injured lesbian to support her.
They also want to draw attention to violence by other LGBTI + people in asylum seekers' centers.
A 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman (Perpetrators), both from Nigeria, were arrested for the incident.

Migration vs Escape

Migration vs Escape

I migrated from Nigeria to escape Insecurity, Discrimination and Fear…. Kayode Gomes

Human migration is the movement of people from one place to another with the intentions of settling permanently or temporarily, at a new location. Migration has become a key issue for countries all over the world whether they are countries of origin, transit or destination, or a combination thereof. International migrants comprise 3.5 percent of the global population with continuous increase on a daily basis.

Contrary to popular opinion, Migration is an act of escape. Escape is an act of breaking free to seek freedom, safety, better life, brighter future and ‘greener pastures’.

The UN Migration Agency (IOM) defines a migrant as any person who is moving or has moved across an international border or within a State away from his/her habitual place of residence, regardless of (1) the person’s legal status; (2) whether the movement is voluntary or involuntary; (3) what the causes for the movement are; or (4) what the length of the stay is.

What we call migration today was the enslavement of our ancestors in the past. The difference was migration before was involuntary and today is voluntary and some even consider it as achievement. In fact human trafficking today is a success story for the victim’s family as the victim is put to labor in a foreign land as profit for perpetrators and families back home. Likewise economic migrants that escaped for greener pastures.

The pity is the fact that our unsafe and underdeveloped places of origin will remain what it is and even worse while we are actually the instrument of development in the places or countries we have fled to. Migration is not a privilege and it isn't necessarily worth it at the end of the day. And do not forget that you can not overrule racism as black Africans and your potentials will always be limited out here. And be careful not to be mentally enslaved.

Looking at the history of slavery and how developed countries have managed to use slave trade in developing their countries; it is rather a pity that the generations of those enslaved have today become migrants escaping from what is left of their place of origin to what their ancestors were enslaved for.

I personally don’t consider migration as a success story but a sad one which might end up a regret if escapees do not retrace their steps. Slavery was pain, migration is today’s pleasure which is gradually becoming a pity.

There is no place like home and no one will fix it for us …..

MEET NIGERIA'S INCUBUS

They are demons having sexual intercourse with “Sleeping Nigerians (Succubus)”
.....
Kayode Gomes

Evil prevails because good people refuse to talk and some are put to silence when they try to speak out.. We cry for a better Nation, but we refuse to get up, our youths are full of ideas, strength and hope , but the Incubus keep oppressing us, while we remain deep asleep with fear of waking up.

The irony of Nigeria are our oppressors, they are only after their personal financial and societal status. They care less how the masses feel. In Fact our cry makes no sense to them. While the rest of the world develops, they progress leaving the poor masses oppressed.

Politicians - The evil men that have held us bound since independence fostering the agenda of the colonies. The government body which we elected for developments and basic necessities of life have become our worst nightmare. They steal every penny meant for development, they kill and kidnap their own people using the foolish people willing to eat from their crumbs. Some Nigerians have sold their rights for cents. How foolish can we remain and fail to see or understand the game play for over 50 years… Indeed my father’s generation failed and my generation will not fail my children’s generation, we just need to wake up to face these bastards. They come into the seat of governance which is popularly known as seat of power only to oppress and steal. Yet they are so greedy that what they steal is not enough, but they still go ahead borrowing funds and using Nigeria's assets as collateral. There is corruption everywhere in the world but our corruption in Nigeria is from the root of a tree called; Nigerian politics.

Clergies - These ones are the demon of our days, they come in angelic gowns, yet they have come to steal and destroy. All they care about is wealth and power. They milk the poor congregation rather than feed them. They felicitate with evil men in the hidden and come to the public as though they are the savior of the world. They are confused with prophecies and have even forgotten the reason why they are in ministry. They perform all forms of miracle and act as though they are God. They establish schools even their church members can not afford. They pray and party with wicked and unscrupulous politicians, they even use their church members to increase vote for their favorite politicians and of course for benefit. They fly in private jets after raising donations from church members walking on foot to church, how mean and wicked can you be taking people that have even placed you more important than God for granted. Nigerians: no pastor or imam will help you because they are all after their own gain and status. You have to wake up and stop getting screwed over and over again by these evil snakes.

Celebrities -  Recently few major Nigerian celebrities came out publicly to make mockery of Nigeria, they bragged about their assets and achievement, and said to hell with Nigerians as they will remain in oppression. And it makes me wonder how people suddenly forget the ladder which took them to the top. You insult and mock the people that made you get where you are in the first place. People who paid to watch and listen to you and as a result you have made so much wealth and no longer have compassion. Little do celebrities understand their power and influence in a society that places so much value on them. Your fans made you whether you like it or not and the only way you can give back to them is by speaking and standing out for them. That should be one of your goals and not being an oppressor and opportunist that uses people to get to the top and abandons them in the days of need. Stop the oppression and selfish interest Nigerian Celebrities…

Breaking News

A revolution is currently going on in Nigeria and it is coming from the Northern political power.

Nigerians you must wake up from your slumber, enough of the oppression, we have slept for too long. We have to begin to hold these evil incubus accountable for how they molest and abuse us in our sleep. We can only do that by waking up… by developing our regions and demanding accountability. We no longer have a one Nigeria as this is not visible. There is no equality in governance.

Let's make it better for our generation, our children and many more generations to come.

We need political reform!

Let's end the oppression!

TEARS OF FEAR

TEARS OF FEAR!

The oxygen of freedom is no longer available to us as Black Humans/Africans…….. Kayode Gomes
It is a state of emergency for all black people all around the world as the pandemic of racism and our inferiority complex dominated by white supremacy has reached its peak.

“When black folk say “Black Lives Matter,” they are in search of simple recognition. That they are decent human beings, that they aren’t likely to commit crimes, that they’re reasonably smart. That they’re no more evil than the next person, that they’re willing to work hard to get ahead, that they love their kids and want them to do better than they did. That they are loving and kind and compassionate. And that they should be treated with the same respect that the average, nondescript, unexceptional white male routinely receives without fanfare or the expectation of”

Human lives matter!
Black lives matter!
Humanity is for all!

We are no threat, we are no animals, we are sensitive, we are human, we have dignity and deserve respect as human beings.
The countries and leaders that represent us as black people and African descendants have failed us.

We can not breath! We are oppressed! We are being used! We are being suppressed!
Enough is Enough. Where there is no equality, there is always no Justice and there will be no Peace.

“I think that change happens, typically not because somebody on high decides that it’s going to happen, but rather because at a grassroots level enough people come together that they force the system to change.”.... Barack Obama

It is time to rise up against oppression, it is time to rise up against inequality, it is time to rise up against bad leadership, it is time to seek justice and peace. It is time to unite.
I speak to all black people and African descends around the world to rise and fight for your right.
Unity is the key to our liberation…..The time is now!

In memory of George Floyd, others before him and all black people that have been denied the rights to life & justice.

Privileges

PRIVILEGES

As we celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Biophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), we the Coalition for the Defense of Sexual Rights (CDSR) a Nigeria based group share our privileges while we work to create an enabling environment,  defend the rights of sexual minorities, promote human rights and build capacity/self esteem…….

Our stories and realities are different. It might not be possible for all  LGBTQI persons and/or Activists to have access or be exposed to the privileges. The other aspect is our willingness to see opportunities where others see challenges.
Some of our privileges as LGBTQI persons and Activists is personal acceptance and reconciliation of sexuality, identity, spirituality and existence. Privilege to work and socialize in non-toxic environments, privilege of having a strong support system among family, friends and allies, access to support (legal, financial, moral, educational, capacity building and emotional) from the community and the privilege of extending a helping hand to fellow community members in need. We were/are privileged to be raised by parents who allowed us to have a voice and respected our views in an open minded way and gave us the opportunity to explore, experience life and make our own decisions with good guidance. Our education (life skills and academics) is key to our privileges which helped to broaden our world, strengthen our knowledge, develop goals to achieve our vision. Meeting the right people, job opportunities, networks and relevant platforms are great sources of our privileges. Self actualization/acceptance is the key source to privileges and we can not over rule the provision of safe spaces as one of the core sources of our privileges. In recognizing our privileges, we put ourselves in a position to mentor and speak for sexual minorities in whatever capacity we can. It is only together we can demystify the societal perspective of who we are. The ability to succeed is in all of us. What's important is the desire. On rare occasions do privileges fall into people's laps. We must aspire, we must demand, we must push and knock at the corridors of knowledge. Privileges can be available to LGBTQI persons if they practice self-love and acceptance, invest more into researching for opportunities that can aid self-development. It is also important that they network and cultivate healthy relationships.
We are investing our strength and resources in the fight towards equal rights for all, to enable LGBTQI+ persons access to all opportunities and resources that can aid them to self actualize and live a productive life. We have answered the calling to mentor others who are less privileged, prepare them and provide them with opportunities to self determine and self actualize. We are also committed to advocating for a friendly legal and policy environment for the less privileged to thrive and bloom. Giving back is always the right thing to do, which is also a privilege! We amplify our voices for social change, defending the rights of queer people whose rights are being violated by creating awareness and advocating for an inclusive nation. Everyone in a privileged position and with knowledge of equal rights should create more safe spaces and expanding the existing ones, stepping up attempts at creating awareness, improving access to safe spaces, providing basic health counselling and access to community friendly health facilities, regular capacity building and entrepreneurial workshops, and provisions of scholarships and educational support to minorities. We give the less privileged LGBTQI persons the affirmation that being who they are is a strength and not weakness. And We can harness that strength by navigating skillfully and safely within the hostile environment we live in. We have gone to the great beyond, some due to neglect, some due to hate, some due to bigotry, some because they were seen as not being human enough to exist. It could have been you or any other person, that is why on this IDAHOBIT we lend our voice to the many out there who do not have these privileges and say we as activists need to do better with one voice. We will continue to emphasize; LGBTQI persons with vision should remain focused and never give up. There are challenges including life threatening situations, but your perseverance, honesty, willingness to learn and serve will take you to your place of desire in terms of life goals. Never give up on yourself and your strength as a person. Being an LGBTQI does not define you as a person. "Action is the only bridge between wanting it and having it" Keep living, keep dreaming, keep achieving, you are beautiful!
Above all; We are privileged to be alive because God loves us for who we are and bless the works of our hand. As a network that defends the rights of sexual minorities including LGBTQI, we will continue to speak, defend, support and build the capacity of our target group.
“An injustice to one, is an injustice to all” Aluta Continua!!!
Happy IDAHOBIT 2020💋

My Africa

MY AFRICA !!!
Africa is in Shambles while common citizens of Africa are in Shackles.....

In realization of My Africa, I have come to understand what we actually need as Africans is UNITY....Kayode Gomes
It is an established fact that Africa is the richest continent in the world blessed with resources such as; Oil, Diamonds, Copper, Cobalt, Timber, Gold and Coco amongst others. These are some of the fundamental resources of Africa which sadly has enriched the world except Africa. In fact it has contributed to poverty, underdevelopment and in many cases war and corruption in Africa. But how come a wealthy and great continent like Africa is underdeveloped. Why do other parts of the world see us as inferior, cursed and poor? Despite our wealth, resources, strength and religious lifestyle we still remain unhealthy, insecured and get lots of negativity around the world.

AFRICA! “Wake up from your slumber of 400 years, Free yourself from the mental shackles of slavery and colonization”....Dr Arikana Chiohombori-Quao

Africans need to rise up to realize that we need to come together as one. Our religion, traditions, beliefs, gender, orientation and greed should not get in the way of our development as a continent. The change we need begins from within. We need to rise up against enemies within to fight the outside enemies, we must call for revolution in African Nations, we must call for policy reform, behavioural  change and one Africa.

"All that is needed for a #Revolution is for the oppressed to choose a date they desire for liberty, not subjected to the approval of the oppressor".... Omoyele Sowore

We are better than any race in the world, never let anyone look down on you as an African. The world is built on our wealth and resources. We remain the first humans that existed on planet earth and the world is still surviving today as a result of our existence.

“It is paradoxical that a continent that is so rich continues to wallow in poverty, given her human and natural resources, Africa ought to perform better,”  … Prof Patrick Lumumba

African Nations are yet to be independent, we must free ourself as a continent from the rest of the world especially the colonies in other to achieve our full potentials because we’ve got all it takes.

“My Africa Dream is for a continent that’s prosperous and all-inclusive”….Julius Malema

Do not be misguided, our problems as African continent can only be solved within Africa and by Africans and only achievable if we come together as one with the mindset of sacrifice and unity.

"We must get our freedom or we shall die trying to get our freedom"....Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine)

The time is now.
United we stand, Divided we continue to fall.
The survival of Africa lies in the unity of Africans.

Africa, rise up to your glory with one voice! one goal! with determination!
AFRICA ARISE!!!
