HUMAN LIVES MATTER!

The Insanity of Nigerian Government and Police Force has prompt speaking out for the voiceless. Nigeria is a blessed nation, with resources, awesome and peace loving people, but the government has overtime turned people whom they should be protecting and defending into enemies and modern day slaves.
It is high time for Nigeria police to stop arresting innocent people for doing nothing wrong. There’s been  a lot of arrest just this year alone on speculations of someone or group of persons being gay, or when people come out to protest for their rights or demand for something that affects the nation, the Nigerian police swift into action by arresting them. Take for instance the arrest of group of women led by Obi Ezekwesili demanding the release of the chibok girls kidnapped by Bokoharram and just few weeks ago, 100s of women were arrested and jailed for over 7 days in the eastern part of Nigeria just because they demanded the whereabout of the IPOB leader (Biafra). Only few days ago about 57 young men were arrested as homosexual suspects which is a regular occurence now in Nigeria. The so called commissioner of police Lagos, Nigeria speaking on his inhuman victory said they (Nigerian Police) were informed that it was a gathering to initiate boys into homosexuality… the last time i checked, only influential Nigerians and politicians entice young boys with money just to f**k them. There is nothing like initiation, sexual orientation has nothing to do with cultism.
Don’t take public office if you are not well educated or informed - Nigerian Police.

Labelling people homosexuals in order to persecute them is a violation of the Nigeria constitution….Davis Mac-Iyalla

I will add to Davis Mac-Iyalla’s quote that it is a violation of human rights broadly. Let’s stop using the law in a wrong way. How many Nigerian Police can even interpret the law correctly, do they even understand Nigeria’s constitution? Why do they arrest only less fortunate persons. How many criminals in the Nigeria parliament, has the police arrested and brought any of them to justice? Rather they celebrate and protect them, how many LGBT persons in government have been arrested, how many celebrity or influential person have been arrested or accused of being LGBT?

There are killings everyday in Nigeria, recently there’s been mass killing by so called fulani headsmen in Nigeria, how many fulani men have Nigeria police arrested just as a suspect or scapegoat. All the bokoharram evil doers using religion as excuse to kill innocent people, how many have they arrested and sent to jail, rather if they are not killed on battlefield, Nigeria Gov. will reabilitate them and still send them out to live as normal people despite all the innocent people they have killed. Yet the police arrest innocent, harmless individuals, pass judgement and begin to parade them in public, on media and sometimes even parade them nude, how heartless can you be?

Speaking from experience...Nigeria Police have been unlawfully arresting LGBT persons since 2014 regularly....
I was arrested alongside other community members in Kaduna, 2015 during Global Fund HIV intervention for MARPs while supervising health intervention activity. The police accused us of initiating young boys into homosexuality. In fact they went to the point of saying we were teaching them how to have sex with themselves using the Condoms and Lubricants we distributed as evidence...

All these inhuman treatment has to stop, you arrest and parade people just because you want someone or an organization to bring funds for bail, here comes a revolution that will turn the table around….Watchout!

Equal Rights and Chances

Sexual equality between men and women is like two different continents apart .....Josephine
I grew up in the Nothern part of Nigeria where our grand parents teach us as women you have to be modest and respect yourself by not enjoying sexual intercourse. You just need to lay in bed while the man enjoys himself and when his done you role yourself up in bed. In most cases the man will even feel suspecious if you  enjoy yourself or feel pleasured, he starts thinking you are loosed, too experienced and sometime conclude the woman is a prostitute for enjoying sex or wanting to be pleasured to reach climax…..
Have you wondered why in many part of the world, it is okay for men to have more than one partner, but when a woman does same, she is labeled as prostitute. My grandfather had 6 wives, and i once asked my grandmother how she felt about it generally and if he really satifies her in bed, she answered by saying as a woman you have to be subsive and accept everything a man does or want because his the head of the house and you dont have to be satisfied in bed as a woman as long as you are able to satisfy him; though today there are little difference as the world is developing but there are still a lot of work and sensitization to be done……
Again i remember my cousin coming home one time back in Africa and she was so angry, i over heard her telling her friend about her sugar daddy refusing to have sex with her just because she requested for condom, she wanted some money from him but he denied her of it just because she wanted to use condom. It is important for young people especially women and girls to understand that safe sex is really important, you want to avoid infections, HIV, STIs, you want to avoid unplanned pregnancy. A woman has the right to contraceptives and negotiate for condom use before sexual intercourse……
Gender matters, we  want a wolrd of happier men and women, it is a win win situation. Equal rights and chances is important to both men and women because take for example, if a man and a women living together or say partners both have a job/career, they can suppoprt each other, if they do doemstic work together, they can enjoy sex afterwards because one of them won’t be too tired than the other. In african terms it will be “Rob my back i Rob your back”. There is no point for roles or steorotype, you can sure give each other responsibilities…..even at work place and school we still see in developed countries also that there is no gender balance, there are cases where a woman does the same job with a man but yet the man gets paid more, all these needs to change and we as young people have a majore role to play in these for a better generation…..

A woman being submissive or golible to a man is considered a culture in many parts of the world, but lets not forget that culture did not make people but people made culture and if that is the case, we should make women equality and rights a culture….. Josephine

Wishing Josephine Happy Birthday....Longer Life & Prosperity in Good Health and Wealth. We celebrate you! #12/08. ......Kayode Gomes

Homosexuals are Satanists (Evil)

Recently, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey , Former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has labeled gays as Satanists and it should not be encouraged. The clergyman indicated that Satanists are mostly the ones in control of country’s finances and that such acts, when entertained, makes the country look shameful. “it’s a disgrace to a nation that sanctions (permits) homosexuality. Prof. Martey questioned a popular saying by homosexuals; “I was born with it or it’s genetic”. According to him, such statements are baseless and have no grounds because they (homosexuals), even scientists have not been able to prove whether it’s natural for someone to be born a homosexual or otherwise. He mentioned that, it’s impossible for an individual to claim to be gay and christian at the same time, maintaining however the fact that someone who finds him or herself in the practice can opt to be born again and denounce homosexuality completely. “For somebody to call himself or herself a Christian and homosexuals or lesbian at the same. For me I don’t want any argument…they say they were born that way, okay, you were born that way but if you say you want to be a Christian there’s something, a doctrine in Christianity called regeneration, being born again. If you were born homosexual and you want to be a Christian then you must be born again.” he said. He concluded his sermon on the note that true believers find it difficult to live with such people in the  same environment.

In my opinion (Kayode Gomes) i begin my response to the above hypocritical statement with a saying by ---Jesse J O’Connor…. “If you’re confused: denying equal rights and civil rights to a subgroup of humanbeings in a population based on the fact that it goes against your religious beliefs is not called pious, moral, or godly; it’s called Bigotry”. That other people have different opinion about life doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be tolerated and accepted. They shouldn’t be seen as perverse, discriminated against or stigmatised. What makes you better, who is more satanic and evil between you that call yourself a born again & have god forbidden secrets and an individual who decide to live and accept himself or herself openly. The Rev. said you can not be born again and homosexual at the same time, what has sexuality got to do with faith or how you communicate with what or who you believe in? He also mentioned true believers can not tolerate gay people…. please! who are the true believers? gay people are in the front line of everything in the 21st century including religion, what makes them different from ‘other people’? Moreover, the so called true believers he may be referring to are same people who claim to be born again and homophobic, yet they travel to places like Europe and America to claim asylum as gay and lesbian  or in the circle of LGBT. This so called homophobes ‘born again’ discriminate homosexuals. Is that not hypocrisy at the highest level? Or perhaps they are the same kind of believers that have secret affairs with people from the LGBT circle. A true believer accepts every human with love and respect regardless the other person’s belief or identity and it is not for you to judge. We live in the age of liberty….In philosophy, it involves free will. “Generally, liberty is distinctly differentiated from freedom in that freedom is primarily, if not exclusively, the ability to do as one wills and what one has the power to do; whereas liberty concerns the absence of arbitrary restraints and takes into account the rights of all involved. As such, the exercise of liberty is subject to capability and limited by the rights of others”.....Wikipedia. Though; “many think liberalism is the idea that evil deserves a fair chance”.....Kayode Gomes

The Interfaith Diversity Network of West Africa (IDNOWA) has responded by saying; “One thing that he says which is so false is the fact ‘True believers find it difficult to live with such people'…What we know as a faith based diversity network is that true believers are welcoming and have long respected diversity. The Ghana Rev. Prof is wrong because you can be homosexual and practise any faith of your choice and even choose not to belief in any. The truth is that you can’t choose your sexuality sometimes, but you can choose your religion or faith. It’s teaching like this that makes IDNOWA very relevant in West Africa and beyond. It’s important that those who speak and see from our point of view have the theological understanding to counter the narratives like that of the Rev. Prof. Martey. Many people like him speak out of ignorance.
